First Aid and CPR training are not considered part of the minimum 12 hours of training before approval. Applicants and approved resource families now have up to 90 days after approval to complete the First Aid and CPR.

Training must be provided by a reputable source. Online training is acceptable. However, a hands-on component is strongly recommended. Some agencies require in-person CPR and First Aid the first time but then accept online training afterwards.

Knotts Family Agency accepts online training from US based online training, and those that list accreditation and/or identify the authorized agent signing the proof of training.
